West Indies spinner Narsingh Deonarine was the man who did the unthinkable for the thousands of Indian fans packed into the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, dismissing Tendulkar for 74 thanks to a smart catch from captain Darren Sammy at first slip.

Deonarine speared one of his off-spinners in towards Tendulkar's off stump and the 40-year-old attempted a late cut, only to glide a sharp chance to Sammy.

Tendulkar had started Friday's second day of the second Test between India and the West Indies on 38, but looked nervous through the 40s as he approached his 68th Test half-century.

Paceman Tino Best was convinced he had denied Tendulkar a half-century, but the 'Little Master' - on 47 at the time - survived the strong caught behind appeal.

Two overs later, Tendulkar drove Best straight down the ground to chalk up another milestone - his half-century.

Tendulkar continued to compile runs and looked relatively comfortable alongside Cheteshwar Pujara, who is almost 15 years his junior, but in the first over after drinks in the opening session, his time at the crease came to an end.
