Shane Warne wades into Goodes debate

Warne

On Thursday afternoon Warne, who has had public run-ins with Goodes in the past, posted a couple of tweets addressing the issue, saying fans should be able to boo who they want without race coming into it.

There were mixed responses to Warne’s tweets, with some agreeing, saying Goodes “brought it on himself” while others, including Fox News and Triple M presenter Tania Armstrong, hit back.

Triple M host and racing identity Richard Freedman also commented, urging Warne to read a Guardian article summing up what Goodes is going through.

Warne’s feud with Goodes goes back to last year when the former Aussie leg-spinner accused Goodes of staging for free-kicks and questioned the Swans star’s Australian of the Year award.

Aussie captain Michael Clarke came in to bat for Goodes on that occasion, responding with this tweet.

But Warne wasn't done...

Goodes jumped in at that point.
