Warne Foundation tries to get records blocked

A Fairfax Media report claims that Warne's personal charity donates just 16 cents of every dollar to its cause, sick and underprivileged children, while most of its money is spent on glitzy events and paying Warne's brother $210,000 to be an executive.

The Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission has the ability to declare a charity's records confidential, if that information could endanger public safety, reveal identity of donors or may be commercially sensitive.

Until last week the Shane Warne Foundation was attempting to have its records blocked from public access for these reasons, as the charity is being investigated by Victoria's consumer watchdog.

The foundation has apparently also been paying rent to Warne's parents and supporting a company associated with a director of the charity.
