PREVIEW: Second Test: Australia v India

Australia can take an unassailable 2-0 series lead against India if it wins the rescheduled match, which starts Wednesday.

However Steve Smith's team will be fighting the weather as well as the Indian team, with up to 20mm predicted to fall on Thursday.

This week's Elders Weather forecast for Brisbane.

India will also be desperate to achieve a result in the game, as it looks to keep its hopes of winning the four-Test series alive.

MS Dhoni's side has not won a Test series away from home since 2011 in the West Indies.

The Gabba wicket, along with the stormy weather, is set to favour bowlers - unlike the batting-dominated series opener at Adelaide Oval.

According to reports, the Gabba strip on which MItchell Johnson terrorised England last season has been replicated.

The postponment of the Brisbane Test has allowed the wicket to have an even grass coverage and fast bowlers from both sides will benefit.

"It’s a well grassed wicket,’’ curator Kevin Mitchell told News Corp.

"We are aiming for a typical Gabba wicket — life and bounce and pace is always what we are trying to achieve. At this stage we are tracking along well."
