Mortaza praises Bangladesh spirit after Zimbabwe win

Having lost four early wickets in the latest one-day international, Mahmudullah and Mushfiqur Rahim led the hosts' fightback with a 134-run partnership for the fifth wicket.

The pair gave solidity to their middle-order and set them on the way to 256-8 and a subsequent 21-run victory.

Mortaza was full of praise for the pair and his bowling attack, who all contributed to restrict Zimbabwe to 235-8 in their 50 overs.

"The way Mahmudullah and Mushfiq batted was brilliant," he said. "We came back into the game and the bowlers bowled very well after that.

"Jubair Hossain is our main bowler, it was his first match and we had to back him. He did well."

Meanwhile, it was another disappointing loss for the tourists, but Elton Chigumbura says they can take plenty of positives out of the match.

Brendan Taylor (63) and Solomon Mire (52) gave them a fighting chance, while the latter also took 3-49 with the ball.

"It's always disappointing to lose a game," he said. "Taylor and Mire played fantastic, but both went out at the wrong time, just before the powerplay.

"We had some other positives. The way we bowled at the start, but after four wickets we didn't manage to put more pressure on Mushfiq and Mahmudullah and that's the partnership that took the game away from us.

"It was a good score to chase down, the way we batted in the middle period, but we lost those two and it's always hard for the guys coming in at six and seven."

Zimbabwe will now look to avoid a double whitewash in Monday's final game, having already lost the Test series 2-0.
