Misbah calls for Pakistan consistency

Pakistan take an unassailable lead into the final match of the series after a 221-run win in Dubai, and just need to avoid defeat to end a 20-year wait for a series win over the Australians.

However, Pakistan have not been able to build momentum in Test match cricket in recent years and have not won back-to-back Tests since February 2012.

Misbah for his side to add that consistency to their game and hopes they can build on the encouraging signs from the first Test when the decider begins on Thursday.

"In the last game, the way we performed, each and everybody delivered," said the captain. "That's what we really want to do again.

"The only concern is we want to show some consistency and that's what we are focusing at.

"We want, as a team, as players, to just repeat our performances like that so that's the only concern."

Misbah remains confident they can achieve that consistency in Abu Dhabi, where he believes conditions suit Pakistan.

"This pitch looks a bit different," he added. "Normally it's a bit different from Dubai, because it's a bit harder than Dubai and it sometimes has a little bit more pace and bounce, but it looks good.

"If we look at our strengths, it looks good for us also as we have a really good record on the Abu Dhabi pitch."

Victory in the second Test for Pakistan would see Misbah's side climb above England into third place in the ICC rankings.
