Indians aggrieved at state of Brisbane practice pitch

ShikharDhawan

Dhawan suffered a wrist injury warming up for day four of the second Test against Australia in Brisbane, with a statement from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) stating they were unimpressed with the turf conditions in the nets.
With India resuming at 71-1, Dhawan began the day retired hurt - with Virat Kohli sent out to bat instead, although the vice-captain was also alleged to be injured batting in the nets.
Dhawan eventually took his place at the crease at 117-6 when Ravi Ashwin was dismissed.
"Team India has been asking for fresh net practice wickets at the Gabba several times for [the] last two days but our request has not been met," a BCCI statement read.
"We have been asked to practice on worn out wickets with uneven bounce, because of which two of our batsmen have injured themselves today [Saturday] morning.
"One of the two batsmen, Shikhar Dhawan - who was one of the overnight batsmen on the fourth morning of the Test - had a right wrist injury due to which he was unable to bat in the morning.
"He is [sic] been examined by our physio, who will assess his fitness in time."
