Dean Brownlie scores record breaking triple ton

Dean Brownlie

The Knights opener, whose last ODI match for New Zealand was against Pakistan in December, took 398 balls for his 334 which included a whopping 40 fours and eight sixes.

He was eventually caught by Ajez Patel off the bowling of George Worker after being at the crease for more than 134 overs.

Northern Knights eventually declared on 556/9 shortly after Brownlie’s dismissal.

His score is the fifth highest by any New Zealander in First-Class cricket. Bert Sutcliffe holds the top two positions with scores of 385 and 355, while Roger Blunt (338*) and Walter Hammond (336*) are just ahead.

Brownlie has played 10 ODIs and 14 Tests for New Zealand with highest scores of 109 in Tests and 47 in the shorter format.
