The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) are to start the process of determining the coach for the men's senior team.

Duncan Fletcher's contract as India coach expired after the Cricket World Cup and there has been no official comment as to whether he will be given an extension to his deal.

Reports in the media have suggested that former India captains Sourav Ganguly and Rahul Dravid are in contention to take the position, with the BCCI looking to arrest a poor recent Test record outside of India.

A BCCI statement read: "The process to identify the coach and support staff for the Senior National team will be undertaken by the Hon. President [Jagmohan Dalmiya] and the Hon. Secretary [Anurag Thakur]."
