Zimbabwe have not played in the Test arena since September 2013, when they drew 1-1 with Pakistan in a two-match series.

They will come up against South Africa in a one-off Test beginning on August 9 in Harare, before three ODIs in Bulawayo.

Both sides will then return to Harare for a tri-series involving Australia, who visit Zimbabwe for the first time in more than a decade after political problems in the country.

In the triangular series, all three sides will play each other twice, with the top two contesting the final.

Zimbabwe's managing director Wilfred Mukondiwa was thrilled at the prospect of the team testing themselves against two of the strongest sides in world cricket.

"We are really excited to have the opportunity to host two strong sides like Australia and South Africa at the same time," he said.

"Our players need the high-level competition the two teams will provide, and our fans will enjoy watching the matches."
