We think it's only fair Aussie cricket fans know a bit more about the man who'll be plotting our downfall in the coming months.
 
So here are 15 facts you may or may not know about Australia's newest enemy.
 
1. He is 52-years old and shares a birthday (December 21) with Samuel L. Jackson and Kiefer Sutherland.
 
2. Played 58 first-class games for NSW from 1985-93.
 
3. He was a stroke playing middle-order batsman who scored 3060 runs at an average of 35 for the Blues.
 
4. Bayliss was born in Goulburn.
 
5. Coached Sri Lanka for four years and got them to the 2011 one-day World Cup final.
 
6. Spin king Shane Warne is a big supporter.

7. Has won a Sheffield Shield title with NSW, a BBL title with the Sydney Sixers and an Indian Premier League crown with the Kolkata Knight Riders.
 
8. He filled in as coach in Australia's Twenty20 series win in South Africa last November and was one of Darren Lehmann's trusted advisors.
