Flintoff watched the first day-night Test between Australia and New Zealand and came away convinced England would dominate under lights due to the pink ball swinging prodigiously in the final session.

"I hope that they do it. I would love England to play day-night Test cricket – we would be unbeatable," Flintoff told The Project.

"Everybody's talking about the ball swinging and doing this and that – that's what we do in England."

Flintoff also defended Australia's decision to use massage therapist Grant Baldwin as a substitute fielder despite the rubdown man's embarrassing misfield.

"Give him a break – he's living the dream," Flintoff argued with a smile.

"Day in, day out he's rubbing Peter Siddle's glutes. He deserves a chance to get out on the field.

"They're not just playing anyone. It's not like he's the bus driver. He's an athlete.

"Yes he's had a shocker (and) I see that Michael Slater's slipped the boot in and Matthew Hayden's had a crack, but fair play to the lad…he's got out there."

However, Flintoff thought it was unwise for Baldwin not to the remove massage oil from his mitts before taking the field.

"He should have washed his hands before he went out," the former Test all-rounder wise-cracked.
