Anamul disappointed to miss century

Bangladesh thrashed the tourists by 124 runs in Dhaka to take an unassailable 3-0 lead in the sides' one-day international series - Anamul top-scoring with 95.

That followed a knock of 80 in the second ODI, however, the opener is happy to see the team succeed despite him falling short of a fourth century in the 50-over format twice in a row.

After being voted man of the match in Wednesday's win, Anamul said: "Little bit disappointed, two matches in a row I missed the centuries, but winning the match was the positive.

"Tamim Iqbal is one of the best openers in the world, and he helps me all the time."

Anamul's knock came from patient play, though his half-paced approach left Bangladesh with work to do after he was dismissed with the team on 167-3 in the 36th over.

However, Mushfiqur Rahim and Shakib Al Hasan smashed 72 runs from the subsequent 48 deliveries to take the game - and the series - beyond Zimbabwe.

"In the first 15 overs it was not easy to bat, so we tried to keep wickets," Anamul added.

"Mushy [Mushfiqur] and Shakib also played very good."

Elton Chigumbura was the only Zimbabwe player to come out of the game with any credit after an unbeaten 53 and he lamented another missed opportunity to win.

Zimbabwe's captain said: "I still think it's a good wicket to bat, and chasing was a good decision, but unfortunately we keep doing the same thing.

"We thought the guys who would come in would bring a different performance but still the same performance. It's disappointing to lose three games in a row.

"I thought the guys were up for it, but we still made the same mistakes. We have the two most important games to go for us. We've got to make sure we finish well."
