Ahmed Shehzad and other bizarre dismissals

Ahmed Shehzad

There wasn’t much for the Black Caps to cheer about against Pakistan on day two of the first Test in Abu Dhabi.

Even the wicket of Ahmed Shehzad was overshadowed as it became clear the Pakistani opener suffered a serious head injury after taking a bouncer to the helmet.

Shehzad was taken to hospital and diagnosed with a minor skull fracture and returned to the ground before the end of the day.

He’ll be monitored over the next 48 hours but his dismissal, one where he fell and hit his wicket, will be remembered as one of the strangest in cricket history.

Here’s a few more bizarre dismissals over the years:

Kevin Pietersen doesn’t seem to have too many friends in the cricketing world. Even his helmet wants to get him out.

Hashim Amla, caught by Corey Anderson with an assist from JP Duminy…

So bad it’s good. A terrible ball, some horrible running, a disastrous throw to the bowler’s end and terrible communication leads to a wicket.

Grant Lambert backs away to give himself some space … and walks back to the sheds.

Ahmed Shezad had a legitimate excuse for hitting his wickets. Inzamam-ul-Haq just had a shocker against Monty Panesar here.

Umm,what?
