Vics name extended squad

The Victorian selectors have named a squad of 17 for the Bushrangers' upcoming Ford Ranger Cup and Sheffield Shield matches against Tasmania at Bellerive Oval.

All 17 will fly down to Hobart on Tuesday before Wednesday’s Ford Ranger Cup clash, but those not required for the Shield game will return home on Thursday before Friday’s match.

David Hussey will captain the Bushrangers in the absence of Cameron White who's on national duty for the Commonwealth Bank ODI Series against Pakistan along with fellow Victorians Peter Siddle and Clint McKay.

The Bushrangers squad includes Chris Rogers who's recovered from a fractured finger sustained in a Premier Cricket match at the start of the new year and paceman Damien Wright, whose start to the 2009-10 season was delayed by injury.

Brad Hodge has been named despite straining a quadriceps muscle during Victoria's win over South Australia in Saturday's KFC Twenty20 Big Bash final at the Adelaide Oval.

DEC Bushrangers squad: David Hussey (captain), Aiden Blizzard, Aaron Finch, John Hastings, Michael Hill, Brad Hodge, Jon Holland, Nick Jewell, Lloyd Mash, Andrew McDonald, Bryce McGain, Dirk Nannes, James Pattinson, Rob Quiney, Chris Rogers, Matthew Wade, Damien Wright
