Nathan Reardon believes Queensland will only have themselves to blame if they can't make it to the final of the Ryobi One-Day Cup.
The Bulls' chances of making the decider on February 25 against South Australia shortened dramatically on Saturday night, when they fell just short of a miraculous win over Western Australia at the Gabba.
They now need a bonus-point victory in Tasmania on Wednesday night to have any chance of progressing.
But after coming within five runs of what would have been a record domestic one-day run chase at the Gabba, Reardon, who was instrumental with his maiden ton, said the team is looking in the mirror.
"We got out of the blocks well and we've probably only got ourselves to blame if we don't make it," he said.
"But we've definitely got the talent in the group to pull off a bonus point win so we're going to have to go down as a fresh head."
"If the one-day game doesn't work out, we've got a Shield final anyway."
Chasing 284 for victory, the match came down to the final over of the final inning but Reardon, who was sensational up until then with his brutal 116-run knock off 113, lost his wicket with the first ball.
With nine runs from the last set required, power-hitter Reardon saw the headlines and went for a six, but was caught by Travis Birt.
"I thought I had enough on it," he said. "It sounded good."
"It was like it got caught up in the wind. What do you do? I thought I hit it well but not quite well enough."
The fact that Queensland got so close to the Warriors' tough total was something of an achievement in itself.
After half-centurions Marcus North and Adam Voges combined for a match-defining 141-run stand, the result of the match looked a foregone conclusion.
But Reardon said with the advent of T20 cricket, teams are not afraid of going all guns blazing in pursuit of such an amount.
"Because of Twenty20 coming into the game, a lot of teams are happy to chase eight an over towards the back end of an innings," he said.
"We just tried to get to 40 overs needing eights, and we did that quite well. But we lost a couple of wickets and it wasn't to be, in the end."
"It's obviously disappointing. The position we got ourselves into, I thought we timed it pretty well."
"We had just a couple overs in the last five there and we only got three or four off them. That might have cost us."
