Man-of-the-match Ravindra Jadeja said 'positive energy' was the key to India's eight-wicket Twenty20 international win over Australia on Friday night.
India registered their first victory on Australian soil this tour at the MCG, levelling the series at 1-1.
Jadeja took 1-16, ran out two batsmen and stumped another, his efforts helping restrict Australia to a paltry 131, laying the platform for a solid Indian chase.
"There was good energy," Jadeja said after the match.
"The boys were extremely positive going into the game. We wanted to give a good account of ourselves and not be affected by the 0-4 scoreline of the Test series."
"The turning point was early wickets and the run-outs we managed. It kept them (Australia) on the backfoot and we made sure we carried the momentum through."
The 23-year-old believes the win will give India a much-needed boost ahead of the triangular one-day international series against Australia and Sri Lanka.
"It's good that it has happened at the MCG where we would play our first ODI on Sunday," he said.
"We would take heart from this win. We now know these conditions and it would give us confidence."
