Hammy sidelines Clarke

02/13/2012 06:27:18 AM

Australian captain Michael Clarke has been ruled out of Friday's one-dayer against Sri Lanka at the SCG due to a grade one hamstring strain.

Clarke sustained the injury while fielding during the Aussies' four-wicket loss to India at Adelaide Oval on Sunday.

The 30-year-old will be assessed later in the week and is optimistic he will feature against Sri Lanka at the Gabba on Sunday.

Cricket Australia will now announce their squad for the next phase of the Commonwealth Bank Series on Tuesday after originally planning on doing so on Monday.

An acting captain will also be confirmed on Tuesday.

Australia currently sit atop the tri-series table with two wins and a loss but could move down to second if India beats Sri Lanka in Adelaide on Tuesday.
