Alastair Cook's 137 and Steven Finn's 4-34 guided England to a comprehensive win in their opening one-day match with Pakistan.
England's 130-run victory in Abu Dhabi on Monday ended Pakistan's seven-game winning streak in the 50-over format, and gave the tourists the perfect start in the four-game ODI series after a disappointing Test campaign, which Pakistan won 3-0.
After winning the toss and electing to bat, Cook almost single-handedly led England to 260-7, with Ravi Bopara adding a half century, before Finn tore through Pakistan's top order at the at Sheikh Zayed Stadium.
Finn carried the drinks during the failed Test series but made his presence known with a blistering new-ball spell to help dismiss Pakistan for just 130 in 35 overs.
The 22-year-old struck with successive balls in his second over when he claimed opener Mohammad Hafeez for five and Asad Shafiq LBW for a golden duck.
Pakistan's rocky chase got worse when a beautiful delivery from Finn found Younis Khan's inside edge and wicketkeeper Craig Kieswetter took the acrobatic catch.
Khan went for 15 and opener Imran Farhat soon followed for 10 with Finn again the tormentor.
With that, he bagged his fourth wicket and reduced Pakistan to 40-4 before the 10-over mark.
Misbah-ul-Haq and Umar Akmal mounted a brief partnership before Samit Patel trapped the former LBW for 14.
Akmal then departed for 22 and Shahid Afridi (28), the only notable bottom-order contributor, fell victim to Patel to become the spinner's third wicket.
Earlier, Cook was magnificent in notching up 137 from 142 balls to guide England to a solid total.
It was Cook's third ODI century and his highest total in the one-day format.
Cook and Bopara combined for a 131-run third-wicket stand after Kevin Pietersen (14) and Jonathan Trott (0) were dismissed, both clean bowled by successive balls from Afridi.
Bopara was caught out on the charge, stumped off Saeed Ajmal for 50 and the off-spinner went on to do further damage.
Eoin Morgan was trapped LBW for two before Kieswetter, trying to loft Ajmal, caught a thick edge and was caught by Wahab Riaz for nine.
Cook also fell victim to Ajmal, his fourth wicket, when the opener missed a sweep shot and was bowled.
Ajmal took his haul to 5-43 with the wicket of Stuart Broad for one before Patel (17 not out) and Graeme Swann (13 not out) pushed England to 260-7.
