Pakistan has been dealt a cruel blow on the eve of the second Test in Sydney with exciting paceman Mohammad Aamer ruled out through injury.

The promising young quick will play no part at the SCG after injuring his groin, Mohammad Sami is expected to take Aamer's spot.

It is terrible timing for the visitors as Aamer showed he can lead the pace attack at the tender age of 17 following a brilliant five-wicket haul at the Boxing Day Test.

It will be a third change to the line-up that lost the first Test by 170 runs with Danesh Kaneria and Umar Gul set to come in for Saeed Ajmal and Abdur Rauf.
