Bogut opted to have platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy to treat his right knee that has already sidelined him for five consecutive NBA games.
An MRI last week found the Australian centre was suffering from chondromalacia and bone edema, which was causing swelling and instability in Bogut's knee.
Bogut has played a key role for the high-flying Warriors (21-3) this season, averaging 7.1 points, 9.3 rebounds and 2.2 blocks per game.
"We fully support Andrew in his decision to undergo the PRP treatment," said Warriors general manager Bob Myers.
"Our number one concern is that Andrew is 100 per cent healthy and we will continue to support him in any way we can to make that happen."
It is not the first time Bogut has faced an extended spell on the sidelines after a fractured rib kept him out of the Warriors' first-round play-off loss against the Los Angeles Clippers last season.
Bogut also missed 50 games in 2012-13 following left ankle surgery.
