Villanova transfer Dylan Ennis has verbally committed to Oregon, the point guard told DuckTerritory.com Wednesday.

"The visit went really great, it was great to see the campus and the program," Ennis said.

The 6-2 senior decided to leave Villanova as a graduate transfer and pursue a school where he could play as a true point guard. Ennis ultimately chose the Ducks over Baylor and Illinois.

"I think I hit it off the best with Elgin (Cook) and Dwayne (Benjamin)," Ennis said of the two soon-to-be Oregon seniors. "They want to win, bad, just like I do and I think we could all relate. They were telling me how the team is going to be very good next season and how I could come in and help with the leadership of this team and help. I know Dillon Brooks really well and we hung out, but I'd say I was around those two guys the most and it played a factor."

Ennis will briefly return to Canada after graduating from Villanova on May 16. He will be eligible to play immediately upon arriving in Eugene.

"I am still working on an exact date when I'll come to Eugene, but I am excited to get to work," Ennis said. "I think this team is going to be pretty good next season. We've got a lot of pieces."

Ennis started all 36 games for Villanova last season and averaged 9.9 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.5 assists in 28.1 minutes per game. He helped the Big East champions land a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament before losing to NC State in the Round of 32.
