A couple of years ago, Jimmer Fredette’s Brigham Young scoring record looked safe for a while.

That didn’t last long.

Guard Tyler Haws scored 21 points in BYU’s 82-69 win over Portland to break Fredette’s record of 2,599 points.

The 6’5 senior from Alpine, UT now has 2,614 points and did it in less than three full seasons. He's averaging 22.4 points this season.

Fredette, who currently plays for the Pelicans, played at BYU from 2007-2011.
