The Americans were 114-55 victors over Finland on the opening day in Barakaldo, to take the early ascendancy in Group C.

James Harden had nine points, four steals, three assists and three rebounds for Mike Krzyzewski's men, and the Houston Rockets star said he was not surprised the Americans were ruthless in their tournament opener.

"We've prepared ourselves these last couple of weeks for this moment," Harden said.

"For every single moment that we're playing, practices are the same way.

"We go hard, we focus, we lock in… we don't pace ourselves, we go out there, we start contesting from the beginning of the game."

The Turks, though, come into the clash on Sunday high on confidence after edging New Zealand 76-73 earlier at the Bizkaia Arena.

Oguz Savas was the star for Ergin Ataman's side on day one, shooting a team-high 16 points.

Earlier, Finland will have the chance to open their winning account against Ukraine, while New Zealand will look to bounce back against the Dominican Republic.

In Group A, Spain, Brazil and Serbia can all continue their winning ways against first-up losers.

The tournament hosts enjoyed a 90-60 victory over Iran on Saturday, and take on Egypt in Granada.

The Brazilians had a narrow win over France, and go up against Iran looking to make it two-from-two.

Meanwhile, the French will hope to bounce back from their two-point loss to Brazil when they clash with the Serbians.

Early pace-setters in Group B, Greece and Argentina will look to build on comfortable day one wins in Seville.

The Greeks thrashed Senegal 87-64, restricting the Africans to just 17 first-half points in a dominant display.

Greece's next objective is a date with the Philippines, while Argentina take on fellow first-up winners Croatia.

Puerto Rico and Senegal go head-to-head, with one nation set to break their winning duck in Spain.

In Gran Canaria, Australia will look to recover after a disappointing defeat to Slovenia to kick off their Group D campaign.

Andrej Lemanis' men were humbled in a 10-point loss, but are expected to deal with South Korea in the first match on court on Sunday.

Slovenia can make it two wins when they take on Mexico, while Lithuania battle against Angola in the final match of the night.
