The San Antonio Spurs moved within a win of securing a berth in the NBA play-offs on Tuesday, knocking off the Miami Heat in Tony Parker's 1000th game.

Parker scored 16 points and produced five assists as he joined team-mate Tim Duncan in the 1000-game club, as the Spurs defeated the Heat 95-81 in Miami.

In a rematch of the past two seasons' NBA championship-decider, it was little surprise Kawhi Leonard top-scored for San Antonio, with the reigning NBA Finals MVP hitting 22 points, while Duncan (12 points, 11 rebounds) produced a double-double for the visitors.

Goran Dragic led the home side with 19 points.

The victory - San Antonio's fourth in a row - saw the reigning champions rise to a 48-26 win-loss record and the Spurs could wrap up a play-off spot in the Western Conference if they beat the Orlando Magic on Wednesday.

The Spurs sit sixth in the West's standings, three games clear of the seventh-placed Dallas Mavericks (45-29), while the Oklahoma City Thunder (42-32) are six games adrift of San Antonio.

In Los Angeles, Western Conference leaders the Golden State Warriors prevailed 110-106 against the home-town Clippers to notch their 10th consecutive win.

Steph Curry (27 points) top-scored for the Warriors, while he also produced the play of the game; leaving Chris Paul on the floor with an impressive crossover before sinking a jump shot from up against the baseline.

Klay Thompson (25 points) also impressed for the visitors, while Blake Griffin (40 points, 12 rebounds) battled hard for the Clippers.

In other results, the Brooklyn Nets pushed into eighth position in the Eastern Conference with a 111-106 win over the Indiana Pacers, while the Detroit Pistons stunned the East's leaders - the Atlanta Hawks - 105-95.
