Russell Westbrook picked up where he left off and recorded another triple-double Wednesday night.

Westbrook finished with a career-high 49 points and 16 rebounds to go with 10 assists. His streak is impressive, but his game numbers made history as well.

The Thunder guard missed one game after facial surgery , then returned to the court Wednesday wearing a mask. He showed he was fine by  throwing down a monster dunk in the first quarter.

Westbrook needed overtime to achieve his latest triple-double as he finished one assist shy in regulation. He assisted on D.J. Augustin's 3-pointer, and then scored Oklahoma City's last 10 points in the extra session. The Thunder outlasted the 76ers, 123-118.

Wednesday performance was Westbrook's sixth triple-double of the season.

Wilt Chamberlain holds the NBA record for most consecutive games with a triple-double. He had nine in a row from March 8-20, 1968, with the Sixers. Hall of Fame guard Oscar Robertson averaged a triple-double for the 1961-62 season with 30.8 points, 12.5 rebounds and 11.4 assists per game while playing for the Cincinnati Royals.

Westbrook averaged 31.2 points, 10.3 assists and 9.1 rebounds while earning Western Conference Player of the Month honors in February and has put himself into the discussion for NBA MVP.
