Runners-up in the 2013-14 campaign, Real have laid down a marker in the early weeks of the new season, and have now won all eight of their fixtures this term.

Their latest victory was a closely fought encounter as Sevilla remained in touch throughout, but Real managed to keep their opponents at arm's length by extending the lead at the end of each quarter.

The visitors were grateful to 18 points from Felipe Reyes, while there were also telling contributions from the likes of Gustavo Ayon (15) and Jaycee Carroll (14) as they extended their winning sequence.

Last season's champions Barcelona remain a game behind them after their 79-64 win at joint-bottom Montakit Fuenlabrada.

Ante Tomic was the star for Barca, netting 23 points in another impressive display from the centre.

Joining Barcelona with a 7-1 record are Unicaja, who defeated Valencia 75-64 with Mindaugas Kuzminskas (18 points) and Will Thomas (17) their main contributors.

At the wrong end of the table, Gipuzkoa staved off a spirited comeback from La Bruxia d'Or  to eventually see off their visitors 82-75.

Gipuzkoa led 50-33 at half-time, but La Bruxia d'Or dominated the third quarter to draw level.

The home side prevailed 21-14 in the final quarter, though, as Marius Grigonis' 25 points proved in vain for the visitors, who remain bottom of the table at 1-7.

Estudiantes fell to their sixth defeat of the season, going down 82-72 at Zaragoza, who moved to 5-3 thanks in no small part to 18 points from Stevan Jelovac.

FIATC Joventut won a thrilling encounter against Laboral Kutxa, prevailing 83-82 with Goran Suton top scoring with 22 points for the victors.

Elsewhere, Iberostar Tenerife ran out comfortable 83-56 winners over MoraBanc Andorra, Bilabo overcame Herbalife Gran Canaria 70-60 and UCAM Murcia defeated Rio Natura Monbus 68-64.
