Jahlil Okafor's violent run-in with a fan doesn't look like it's going away anytime soon.

Boston police say they are investigating the street brawl involving Okafor and a man that took place early Thursday morning, according to ESPN.

According to reports, a man claims Okafor punched and pushed him following an argument outside a Boston nightclub. The man also claims he suffered a cut over his eye that later required stitches, but no charges have been filed as of Friday evening.

Okafor expressed regret for his involvement in the situation on Friday prior to his team's game against the Rockets.

"It was definitely dumb on my part," Okafor said . "It's something that I am embarrassed about. [I'm] still dealing with the league and the team. But I'm not happy about it at all."

Apparently this isn't the 76ers rookie's first experience with hecklers. According to the Philadelphia Inquirer , who cited five sources, Okafor had a gun pointed at his head following a verbal exchange in October at a Philadelphia club.

But Okafor's most recent incident was reportedly prompted when a man taunted him while leaving the Boston club.

"Apparently they said, 'The 76ers suck, and you guys are all losers. You'll never win a game,'" an ESPN source said. "I was around the corner when it happened. I saw [Okafor] a minute after he knocked the dude out. I think the guy was just talking s—, saying the Sixers suck."

Okafor was in the starting lineup Friday against the Rockets.
