Members of the Ole Miss band put on Kentucky hats, waved blue and white pompoms and played the Wildcats' fight song during the women's SEC tournament.

The reason? Kentucky's band faced winter weather conditions and didn't make the trip to Little Rock, so members of the Ole Miss band learned the fight song and filled in for the absence.

"The people at Ole Miss were good enough to participate," Kentucky coach Matthew Mitchell said, via The Clarion-Ledger. "We were very, very grateful and appreciative. Those young folks in the band showed up with a lot enthusiasm for our team."

Players on the team were thankful for Ole Miss' kindness.

"From a player's standpoint, we're just so grateful that they came out," said Kentucky senior Bra Goss. "Because, No. 1, they didn't have to and No. 2, they didn't have to with as much energy."

Kyle Hickey is a grad student at Ole Miss and discussed his experience on his Instagram account.

"Wow, what a day! It started off with a disappointing outcome for our Lady Rebels, but they played and I'm still super proud of them. Instead of going home, however, I got the chance to call another game at a major tournament and support our friends from Kentucky. I can never tell you all how proud I am of the Ole Miss Band students that came on this trip. It is an absolute privilege to work with these students, and I will miss them dearly when I graduate this May. Take time to thank the band students in your life, especially if they proudly wear the Red and Blue."

As Hickey noted, the Rebels fell to Arkansas, 72-61. Kentucky went on to defeat Vanderbilt, 67-61, and will face Mississippi State at 9:30 p.m. Friday.
