The NBA has postponed Monday's Nets and Knicks home games in advance of a winter storm that is expected to blast the Northeast with snow of "historic" proportions, the league announced on Monday.

The Knicks were scheduled to host the Kings at Madison Square Garden, with the Nets playing the Trail Blazers in Brooklyn. Both games have been postponed, per reports by Kings broadcaster Grant Napear and Yahoo! Sports, respectively.

The Knicks-Kings game has been rescheduled for March 3, while Nets-Blazers will be played on April 6, the league announced.

The New York metropolitan area is expecting to receive 18-24 inches of snowfall through the duration of the storm.

Boston will also be affected by the storm, but the Celtics are on the road, playing at Utah on Monday night.
