Aaron Rodgers defends Wisconsin fandom

News flash: Aaron Rodgers is a big Wisconsin basketball fan right about now.

Rodgers and his actress girlfriend Olivia Munn have been shown by television broadcasts celebrating after nearly every Badgers bucket. While the university embraces its new celebrity super fan, one sports writer, Dennis Dodd of CBSSports.com, isn’t pleased with the special treatment the beloved Packers QB and Wisconsin icon is receiving.

Rodgers apparently rubbed Dodd the wrong way when he was allowed on the court for the cutting of the nets after Wisconsin won its Elite Eight matchup against Arizona and later refused to do any interviews.

Rodgers, a California kid who grew up and played his college ball in the Golden State (Butte Community College and Cal), has developed a serious enjoyment of Wisconsin sports after being drafted by Green Bay in 2005. Despite the recent criticism of his perceived “fandom,” the reigning NFL MVP stands by his love for Badgers basketball. And instead of ignoring Dodd’s Twitter rant, Rodgers responded.

This seems like a simple case of sour grapes, so don’t be surprised to see Rodgers in Indianapolis for the Final Four as Wisconsin takes on the undefeated Kentucky Wildcats. Now for that game's most popular prop bet: Which super fan gets the most screen time, Rodgers or Ashley Judd?
