LeBron James scored 29 points in Miami Heat's 94-73 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers, to take a 2-0 lead in the NBA playoffs.

Chris Bosh registered his second consecutive double-double with 21 points and 11 rebounds, as the Heat improved on their Game 1 showing (97-89) with a 21-point victory at the American Airlines Arena on Monday.

Although the 76ers were within eight points midway during the second period, a 21-11 scoring run in favour of the Heat ensured they pulled away to a commanding 49-31 lead at halftime, and that scoreline improved to 75-52 at the final internal.

Philadelphia will be fighting history to edge out the Heat in their seven-match battle, with Miami having never conceded a playoff series after taking a 2-0 lead.

Philadelphia's Thaddeus Young led top scored for the losing side with 18 points, while Evan Turner was serviceable with 15.

The 76ers will host Game 3 on Thursday.

The Chicago Bulls fended off Indiana Pacers' challenge late in the fourth quarter to win Game 2 of their playoffs series 96-90.

Derrick Rose amassed 36 points, while Carlos Boozer added 17 points and 16 rebounds as the Bulls, won a labouring battle against the Pacers at Conseco Fieldhouse, Indiana.

The teams will lock horns for Game 3 on Thursday in Chicago.
