Fox led the Bulldogs to the NCAA tournament this season, where they were ousted in the first round by Michigan State. He originally had three years left on his contract before it was extended. In addition to the $2 million annual pay, a $150,000 per year longevity bonus will be factored in, which he will collect at the end of the 2019-20 campaign.

"Mark and I discussed an extension following the season," Georgia athletic director Greg McGarity said in a statement. "I am very pleased the Board approved the extension today, and we are very appreciative of the leadership Mark provides to our basketball program. Mark continues to build on the solid foundation he has established as our head coach."
