LeBron: Cavaliers, Waiters still learning

The James-led Cavs downed the Western Conference's third-placed Grizzlies 105-91, to improve to a 16-10 record in the East - which leaves them fifth in the conference standings.

The four-time NBA MVP said Cleveland were continuing to work at understanding their team-mates better, as they are just 26 games deep into their second 'LeBron-era' after his defection home from the Miami Heat in the off-season.

"I think we played a really good game. The way we shared the ball [was impressive] and we had a low turnover game," James said.

"That's a good ingredient for us to be successful. Thirty-four assists is huge and it was a great game for us.

"Every experience is a teacher for us. We learn from our mistakes and then a team like Memphis comes in and it's a totally different contrast of style.

"They're inside and outside, there's not many teams in our league that play inside and outside and we just did a great job.

"Defensively, just trying to put pressure on their ball handlers and make it tough for them."

Dion Waiters scored 21 points for the Cavs for the second time in three games, taking his 20-plus games to four for the season - but James said the Syracuse product was still learning how to play team basketball.

"When you're patient good things happen to you, the ball finds energy. I learnt that a lot over my career here, being in Miami, when I first started playing the game of basketball," James continued.

"When you're selfless and all you care about is the team succeeding, 10 individual things will happen for you in a good way.

"You've just got to have a clear mind and go out and play, we know Dion is capable to play in some really good isolation basketball but at the same time we have to do what is best for the team too, so it's a fine line but he's figuring it out."
