Portland Trailblazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge is earning some tough points on Saturday.

The team announced he will put his surgery on hold and play against Washington.

Aldridge has a ligament tear in his left thumb and was originally expected to sit out 6-8 weeks. The three-time All-Star suffered the injury while defending Kings center DeMarcus Cousins in a game last Monday night.

"We are having a good season and I want to keep it going," Aldridge told Marc J. Spears of Yahoo Sports. "Going to try and play with it if I can and go from there."

Not much else is known right now about Aldridge's return. There's no indication on how much he'll play tonight or how long he'll hold off surgery.

Aldridge's presence is a big one, and whenever he does get surgery it will create a big hole for the Trail Blazers. He's averaging 23.2 points per game and 10.2 rebounds.
