The Lakers assigned forward Ryan Kelly to their D-League affiliate, the LA D-Fenders, on Friday, the Los Angeles Times reported.

Kelly has been in the starting lineup for each of the Lakers' last four games, although hamstring injuries kept him sidelined in all but three games in the first two months of the season.

The second-year Duke product has averaged 3.8 points and 2.9 rebounds in 17 games this season.

Kelly suited up for the D-Fenders on Friday when the team hosted Bakersfield. He scored a game-high 30 points with several of his Laker teammates in attendance.

The Lakers will embark on a four-game roadtrip on the East Coast this weekend. They will first visit the Knicks on Sunday at 2 p.m. ET.
