La Bruixa d'Or secure vital win in battle to avoid the drop

DavinWhite - Cropped

La Bruixa d'Or secured a narrow 75-73 success over Tenerife to give their Liga ACB survival hopes a real boost.

Davin White was the star for the triumphant hosts, netting 23 points as the strugglers held off a final-quarter fightback to seal a much-needed win.

Victory moves them to 8-18, a game clear of the bottom two, who both tasted defeat in the latest round of action.

Sevilla went down 99-83 at third-placed Barcelona, Justin Doellman (17 points) and Bostjan Nachbar (16) the main contributors for the victors.

Sevilla lie second from bottom, one win better off than Montakit Fuenlabrada, who lost out 91-85 at MoraBanc Andorra despite 23 points from Andy Panko.

At the opposite end of the table, both Unicaja and Real Madrid were triumphant again as they confirmed their status as the strongest clubs in the division.

Unicaja moved to 22-4 with an 80-56 success over Murcia, while Real are a win behind following their convincing 92-66 home win over Estudiantes.

Bilbao matched Real's feat, defeating Gipuzkoa by exactly the same scoreline with both Alex Mumbru and Dairis Bertans netting 16 points.

Elsewhere, Herbalife Gran Canaria edged to a 79-77 win over FIATC Joventut, Laboral Kutxa defeated Valencia 94-88 and Rio Natura Monbus overcame Zaragoza 77-69, meaning all nine home sides were victorious in round 26.
