The New York Knicks recorded 60 losses for the first time in franchise history after going down 111-80 to the Chicago Bulls on Saturday.

The Knicks hit a new low in the 31-point drubbing, with Bulls stars Jimmy Butler and Joakim Noah joining in the Mexican wave with fans in attendance such was the ease of the victory.

Obviously the Knicks roster was displeased following their performance.

"It's difficult, especially with the thoughts we had going into the season, wanting to be in the playoffs," Knicks centre Cole Aldrich said. "It's about not giving up now. We still have basketball to play. We can't all forget the opportunity that's ahead of us. We haven't had the season that we wanted to, but it doesn't mean we can't go out and finish strong."

A recent ESPN survey labelled Derek Fisher as the worst coach in the NBA. A reporter asked Fisher after the game if it was unfair considering Phil Jackson tore down the roster in January.

"It's reality. When you take the job, there's no guarantee you'll be successful," Fisher told the New York Post. "There's no guarantee any particular year will go as well as it can go or as bad. It's part of the journey. It's the first year. I'll learn a lot from it. I don't think we can look at anything in this business as unfair. You learn from the tough times, bad nights, the losses.

He added: "I used to hear and see similar rankings when I was a player and how low I used to rank.

"The 200-plus players above me didn't have near the success I had before. There will be coaches who will always be better than me, have more success and better records, but I don't need validation from 200 random people on a website to tell me what I can and can't do."
