Kevin Durant wants to retire at the Oklahoma City Thunder amid talk of a possible departure via NBA's free agency in 2016.

Reigning NBA MVP Durant is eligible to become a free agent next year, with the Thunder able to offer a max contract exceeding the value of any other team.

Thunder general manager Sam Presti has already quashed reports that the Oklahoma City franchise are willing to trade Durant, who is set to miss six months after undergoing surgery on a broken foot.

New York, Los Angeles, Dallas and Washington are possible destinations for Durant but the 26-year-old wants to stick with the Thunder if he has his way.

"I love it here, man. I love my teammates, I love the city, I don't really think about anywhere else," Durant told Revolt TV.

"I hear it all the time, don't get me wrong, and once you hear it you're kind of like [looks up, thinking]. But for me, I love staying in the moment, and I'm one of those guys that would love to stick it out with one team my whole career.

"Kobe Bryant, Tim Duncan, Dirk Nowitzki-type. That's awesome. But you never know what the future holds sometimes and how teams may feel about you after a while, but I love it here and I would love to get my jersey retired here."

Durant - a six-time All-Star - has led the Thunder to the playoffs on six occasions since being drafted as the number two pick in 2007.
