Los Angeles Lakers big man Jordan Hill produced a double-double as the NBA strugglers edged the Chicago Bulls 123-118 in double overtime on Thursday.

After Bulls centre Pau Gasol forced overtime against his former team at Staples Center with 11 seconds remaining, Hill sent the game into a second additional period by sinking a clutch jump-shot 16 seconds from the end.

Neither team could be separated in the first overtime - level at 8-8 - but the Lakers then took control of proceedings, outscoring the Bulls 17-12 in the second period to end a nine-game losing streak.

Hill finished with a team-high 26 points and 12 rebounds, while Wayne Ellington had 23 points of his own for the Lakers (13-34).

All-Star Jimmy Butler posted a game-best 35 points for the Bulls (30-18), who were also led by Gasol and his 20 points and 10 rebounds.

Zach Randolph was at his best as the high-flying Memphis Grizzlies routed the Denver Nuggets 99-69.

Randolph scored 15 points and collected 17 rebounds to help the Grizzlies (34-12) to a fifth successive win.

Jeff Green (13), Courtney Lee (11), Beno Udrih (11), Nick Calathes (11) and Marc Gasol (10) also registered double-digit points for the Grizzlies.

Denver duo Wilson Chandler and Kenneth Faried both scored 10 points apiece.

The Milwaukee Bucks and Indiana Pacers were also victorious on Thursday.

Jared Dudley and Khris Middleton posted 17 points each as the Bucks downed the Magic 115-110 for their first win in Orlando in 17 attempts.

The Pacers, meanwhile, blitzed the hapless New York Knicks 103-82.
