Heat guard Dwyane Wade is expected to miss "extended time" with a strained right hamstring he suffered during Tuesday's game against the Bucks.

According to the Sun Sentinel, that outlook is based on an initial exam during Wade's treatment Wednesday at AmericanAirlines Arena.

Wade was sidelined from Nov. 14-30 with a strained left hamstring. Under a similar timetable, he may be out until after the All-Star break with this injury.

The Heat (20-25) don't have a true backup shooting guard, so point guards Mario Chalmers, Shabazz Napier and Norris Cole will rotate minutes in the backcourt in the short term. Miami has extended a second 10-day contract to guard Tyler Johnson to provide backcourt depth.

Wade is averaging 21.4 points, 3.8 rebounds, 5.4 assists and 1.1 steals per game.
