Anthony stars again, Hawks overcome Pelicans

Carmelo Anthony continued his impressive NBA pre-season form as the New York Knicks accounted for the Washington Wizards 115-104.

Anthony - returning from a left knee injury - posted 21 points in 25 minutes, shooting 10-of-15 in Washington on Friday.

The eight-time All-Star's display came after he tallied 17 points against Bauru on Wednesday.

Derrick Williams was the leading scorer off the Knicks' bench with 23, while Kyle O'Quinn (14 and 10 rebounds) and Jose Calderon (10, seven assists) combined for 24.

Wizards quintet Marcin Gortat (15 points), John Wall (13), Bradley Beal (12), Kris Humphries (11) and Gary Neal (11) all had double-digit points.

The Atlanta Hawks, meanwhile, overcame a slow start to beat the New Orleans Pelicans 103-93.

Shooting at only 30.8 per cent in the first half, the Hawks trailed by seven points at half-time and only took the lead with four seconds remaining in the third period.

The Hawks were led by Dennis Schroder, who sank 11 points.

Kyle Korver, Al Horford and Kent Bazemore had 10 points apiece.

Pelicans All-Star Anthony Davis scored 20 points.

Elsewhere, the Oklahoma City Thunder saw off Turkish outfit Fenerbahce 111-81.

Alex Len helped the Phoenix Suns to a 101-85 win over the Utah Jazz.
