Carmelo Anthony admits his knee is ailing and his game is suffering, but says he doesn’t want to miss any action.

The Knicks' star, who injured his left knee in the second game of the year and has aggravated the injury a couple of times since, has been urged by “multiple people” to take some time off.

“I have multiple people saying just shut it down, take time off,” Anthony told reporters, according to the New York Post. “But at the end of the day, it’s hard for me to do just that right now amidst what’s happening to the team and season. I’m trying to be smart about it.”

Anthony says he needs to be on the court for the Knicks, who are reeling at 5-22, yet still sit in the hunt for a playoff berth.

Anthony is questionable for Thursday’s road game against the Bulls. The 30-year-old forward has only missed one game this year because of his knee (he sat out two games in November with a back injury). Anthony admits the injury, which could require surgery after the season, affected his shot in Tuesday’s loss to the Mavericks.

“Some days I feel like I can go and have everything,” Anthony said. “It was a little sore in the first half. I didn’t have lift on my shot.”
