Scores at Adelaide Arena were locked at 25 apiece at quarter time but the 36ers powered away the longer the match progressed, before eventually recording a comfortable 13-point victory.

In-form Charles Carmouche was the star for the Kings, collecting 27 points and six rebounds.

But the hosts had a much more even spread of contributors - including Mitch Creek (14 points, 10 rebounds, 2 blocks), Daniel Johnson (20 points, 8 rebounds) and Gary Ervin (19 points, seven assists, seven rebounds).

At the WIN Entertainment Centre, the New Zealand Breakers prevailed over home side the Wollongong Hawks 97-89 thanks to a gritty final-quarter fightback.

The Hawks had led by five points midway through the fourth, but a Mika Vukona inspired surge saw the Breakers end the match with  a telling 24-11 blitz.

Vukona finished with 18 points and 11 rebounds in what was the Breakers' second win from six matches, while the result saw the Hawks go bottom of the table.

Alex Pledger had 19 points and seven boards, while Kerron Johnson had eight of his 10 points in the fourth quarter, but missed six free-throws down the stretch to keep the Hawks in the hunt.

For the Hawks, Rotnei Clarke scored 20 of his season-high 36 points in the first half and Kevin Tiggs added 18 points.

In other results from round four, the Melbourne Tigers were too good for the Cairns Taipans in North Queensland 86-74, while the Perth Wildcats embarrassed the Hawks 87-47 and the Townsville Crocodiles were edged 88-86 by the Kings.

Also the 36ers had the Breakers' measure on Thursday, winning 96-93.
