For the Wizards, it was just their second win of the season as they snapped a seven-game winning streak for NBA leaders Oklahoma.
John Wall had 25 points for the Wizards and Nick Young 24, while Kevin Durant (33 points) had a chance to tie the game with a three-pointer for the Thunder at the buzzer but saw it bounce off the rim.
Russell Westbrook posted 36 on a disappointing night for the Thunder.
Meanwhile, Chauncey Billups hit a go-ahead three-point shot with a second remaining to snatch a 91-89 victory for the LA Clippers over the Dallas Mavericks.
John Terry netted back-to-back threes in the last 40 seconds of the game for the Mavericks but his heroics were outshone by veteran Billups, who has made a habit of making clutch shots over the years.
Mo Williams top-scored for the Clippers with 26 points while it was a more even performance from Dallas with five players scoring in double figures.
The Tony Parker-led San Antonio Spurs ended Orlando Magic's five-game winning streak with an 85-83 overtime win at Amway Center.
