The Perth Wildcats have kept in touch with league leaders New Zealand after they recorded a thrilling 76-75 win against the Sydney Kings on Friday night at the Sydney Entertainment Centre.
In a see-sawing encounter which saw the Wildcats trail by 11 points with seven minutes left, Perth stormed home to score 14 of the last 16 points and shore up second spot on the table.
Luke Nevill (19 points) top-scored for the visitors and enjoyed 53 percent shooting (9-17) from the field while Shawn Redhage (15, eight rebounds) and Jesse Wagstaff (15) were also valuable contributors.
Anatoly Bose stood out for the Kings with an impressive double-double (16, 10) and he was ably assisted by Jerai Grant (17, eight) and Ben Madgen (16).
Perth are now 13-5 and only an inferior percentage to the Breakers (13-5) is keeping them off top spot.
Elsewhere, bottom-placed Wollongong upset top-four contender Cairns 80-74.
