The Townsville Crocodiles have overcame a slow start to trounce the Adelaide 36ers 89-71 in an entertaining NBL battle at the swamp on Sunday night.

After trailing by five points at the long break, the home side lifted their game in the second half and blew the 36ers away to coast to an 18-point win.

Giant centre Luke Schenscher was the star for the Crocs with 22 points, while also contributing seven rebounds and two blocks in a dominant display.

The Crocs were also well served Eddie Gill (16 points) and Elvin Mims (11) who provided valuable support to Schenscher.

Australian junior international Mitch Creek was Adelaide’s best, finishing with 19 points and three assists.

Adelaide started well enough, at one stage opening up a 10-point lead before allowing the home side to close the gap to five by half-time.

But it was one-way traffic in the second half as Schenscher stepped up his game while the 36ers began to make more careless turnovers.

The victory means the Crocs hold onto third spot on the NBL ladder and will give them plenty of confidence heading towards the playoffs.
