The Cleveland Cavaliers snatched a thrilling 100-99 victory against the Oklahoma City Thunder thanks to Daniel Gibson's late three-pointer.

Gibson scored with 8.7 seconds left on the clock to earn the home side the win against a spirited Thunder team.

LeBron James and Shaquille O'Neal had contributed 37 and 22 points respectively.

The Miami Heat had a comfortable night's work in beating the hapless Sacramento Kings 115-84, Dwayne Wade with 27 points and eight assists before taking a well-earned rest.

The Orlando Magic needed overtime but managed to win in style eventually against the Charlotte Bobcats, beating their hosts 106-95.

Elton Brand's 23 points helped the Philadelphia 76ers to a 107-97 win at the Indiana Pacers while the Portland Trail Blazers enjoyed a 97-93 road win against the Detroit Pistons.

Another home team defeated were the Rockets in Houston, who were on the end of a 104-97 reverse against the Chicago Bulls.

The Milwaukee Bucks thrashed the Minnesota Timberwolves 127-94 and the Utah Jazz were similarly emphatic in beating the New Jersey Nets 116-83.

The Denver Nuggets made it six wins in a row by overcoming the New Orleans Hornets 116-110 in overtime.

The Phoenix Suns were 112-103 winners at home to the Golden State Warriors.
