Deron Williams starred as the New Jersey Nets upset the Chicago Bulls, while San Antonio also won in the NBA on Saturday.
The Nets snapped an eight-game losing streak with the 97-85 victory, as they led from start to finish against favourites Chicago on their home turf.
After jumping out to a 19-point lead midway through the first quarter, the Nets never allowed the Bulls, who were without superstar Derrick Rose for the fifth straight game with a back injury, within 11 points through the second half at United Center.
Williams finished with 29 points, while Kris Humphries added 24 points and 18 rebounds as the Nets restricted Chicago to a season-low 39 percent shooting from the floor.
"I'm just happy the streak is over," Williams said afterwards.
"It's not fun losing. It's a great win for us. This is a good team despite the guys they have out."
The San Antonio Spurs held off the LA Clippers in overtime to extend their winning streak to 10.
Gary Neal hit go-ahead threes in regulation and overtime in the 103-100 win to finish with 17 points, one of six Spurs players to notch double figures.
Tony Parker scored 30 for the winners while Blake Griffin starred for the Clippers with 22 points and 20 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Tony Allen scored a tip-in with 5.6 seconds on the clock to give the Memphis Grizzlies their fourth straight victory, a 104-103 result over the Golden State Warriors.
Allen made up for Rudy Gay's missed shot in an almost mirror repeat of Friday's 103-102 win against Denver, in which Dante Cunningham knocked in Gay's miss for the win.
Gay had 19 points and OJ Mayo 18 for the winners. Stephen Curry dominated for the Warriors with 36.
And the Portland Trail Blazers cruised to a 97-77 win over the Atlanta Hawks at Rose Garden as LeMarcus Aldridge posted a double-double in his first game back from an ankle injury with 19 points and 10 rebounds.
