Kobe Bryant drained a three-pointer on the buzzer to give the LA Lakers a dramatic 109-108 victory over the Sacramento Kings.
Bryant released the decisive shot with just 0.1 seconds remaining in a thrilling finish at the Staples Centre.
"I was just trying to get open, I got a good clean look and knocked it down," Bryant said.
"It was a tough game for us but we battled through and stayed with it and here we are."
Ime Udoka crucially missed two free throws with 4.8secs left to give the Lakers a chance and Bryant took full advantage.
Elsewhere, Nate Robinson marked his return to action in style with 41 points as the New York Knicks beat the Atlanta Hawks 112-108.
Robinson, who had been left out of the side in recent weeks, scored 11 of the visitors' 13 points in overtime in his first game since December 1.
The Orlando Magic also won on the road, ending a three-game losing streak away from home, as they beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 106-94.
The game was tight until the final quarter when the Magic outscored their rivals by 33-23 to pull away.
